Where is parking?

Parking is located near River Park Trailhead, 3100 Bryant Irvin Road, Fort Worth, TX 76109

How much is parking

Parking is $5, but you can walk or ride your bike to the event using the Trinity Trails. Bike parking will be available. Remember to bring your bike lock, we are not responsible for lost or stolen bikes.

How much is Admission?

Admission is Free.

Where are the fly tying demonstrations and presentations being held?

All presentations will take place inside Acme Brick Building

When is the ORVIS Big Trout Contest?

The Big Trout Contest will take place from 11am-4:30pm with four separate heats. Limited amount of signups available on the day of but you must arrive prior to the contest start to get a spot. Spectators welcome.

Do you need a fishing license to open fish or in the ORVIS Big Trout Contest?

Yes, a fishing license is required for those over 17 years old. For those that do not have a fishing license, we will have a station available onsite for you to purchase a fishing license.

Is bait fishing allowed?

Yes, but only in the open fishing area.

Is the event kid friendly? Dog friendly?

Yes, we will have multiple kids activities that include face painting, rock climbing wall and a kid’s fish tank. Yes, the event is also dog friendly.

What vendors will be onsite?

ORVIS, Backwoods, Fatties on the Fly, Fort Worth Fly Fishers, Texas Council of Fly Fishers International, North Texas Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Texas Reel Recovery, Trinity Coalition, Trinity River Turtle Study and TRWD Watershed Education Trailer.

Is the event Rain or Shine?

If there is rain on the day of the event, activities will be re-located on paved lots as necessary. Presentations and Fly Tying are scheduled inside Acme Brick Headquarters building. In the event of lighting, TRWD clear the water as required per our National Weather Service weather plan.
